It is important to familiarize yourself with this policy before confirming a reservation. When you reserve a charter with PublicStewardship, you are acknowledging and consenting to these terms for refunds.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Timetable

More than 72 Hours Prior to Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Complete refund except for processing charges

Processing Duration: 5-7 business days

Processing Charge: £50 for credit card payments

Requirements: Must be requested via email or telephone in a written format

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half the cost of the total charter price

Processing Duration: 7-10 business days

Processing Charge: £25 subtracted from the refund amount

Requirements: Justifiable cause necessary; administrative fees apply

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: Absence of refund

Exception: Cases of emergencies can be considered

Alternative: Credit for future charter might be provided at the discretion of the management

Requirements: Supporting paperwork required for emergency scenarios

Cancellations Due to Weather Conditions

Our Guarantee in Case of Bad Weather

Your safety is our foremost concern. If the weather conditions are considered unsafe for sailing by our licensed captain, we offer several alternative options:

  • Complete Refund: A full refund if it's not possible to reschedule
  • Rescheduling: Move your reservation to a different date without extra charges
  • Charter Credit: A credit applicable for one year from the initial date of the charter

Evaluation Criteria for Weather

Our procedure for judging the weather includes:

  • Evaluating wind speed and trajectory
  • Assessing wave height and ocean conditions
  • Forecast of visibility and precipitation
  • Warnings and notices from the Coast Guard
  • Assessment of safety by the professional captain

Decision Timeframe: The verdict on weather-related cancellation is made at least 4 hours before the charter is scheduled to depart.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Critical Medical Situations

We recognize that unexpected medical events can happen. The following incidents might be eligible for consideration:

  • Sudden serious illness or injury needing hospital attention
  • A death in the immediate family
  • Unanticipated military duty or recall
  • Being summoned for jury duty or court
  • Major natural events disrupting travel plans

Required Paperwork

For processing of emergency refund requests, the following documents are necessary:

  • Proof from the hospital or medical certificate
  • Death certificate, if relevant
  • Deployment or recall orders from the military
  • Notice of jury service or court summons
  • Emergency declarations or travel advisories

Processing: Reimbursements for emergencies are processed within a span of 3-5 working days after reception of the necessary documentation.

Cancellations Due to Operational Issues

Technical Difficulties

If the yacht you're assigned is plagued with technical issues that can't be fixed:

  • Variant Vessel: An attempt to provide a similar alternative will be made
  • Total Refund: If no suitable alternative vessel is available
  • Partial Reimbursement: If the alternative yacht comes with different pricing
  • Reparation: We may provide additional compensation for the inconvenience experienced

Unavailability of Crew Members

In the unexpected event that the certified crew is not available:

  • A substitute crew will be arranged if possible
  • A full refund if there is no way to proceed with the charter
  • Option to reschedule without any further costs

Handling of Refunds

Method of Reimbursement

The way your refunds are handled is as follows:

  • Credit Cards: 5-7 working days
  • Wire Transfers: 7-10 working days
  • Cash/Check: 3-5 working days

Charge for Credit Card Transactions

£50 cost for cancellations with more than 72 hours' notice

Bank Transfer Charges

£25 fee for all refunds done via bank transfer

Charges for International Transactions

There might be extra costs for transactions outside the local region

Credits for Yacht Charter

Conditions for Receiving Credits

Credits may be offered as an alternative to a refund under certain scenarios:

  • Late cancellations within a day of the scheduled charter
  • Cancellations due to weather changes
  • Requests made for rescheduling voluntarily
  • Interruptions resulting from operational setbacks

Terms for Credits

  • Validity: Credits are good for one year from the date of issuance
  • Transferable: Credits are non-transferable
  • Monetary Value: Equals the full charter amount without any processing fees
  • Utilization: Applicable to any available charters
  • Extension: Credits cannot be extended past 12 months

Refunds for Disrupted Services

Situations Involving Operational Interruptions

In the event of a charter being interrupted due to elements within our control:

  • A refund proportional to the unused portion
  • A credit equivalent for a future charter
  • Complimentary additional services or upgrades

Issues Stemming from Guests

If a charter concludes earlier than planned because of the guests' actions or violations of safety rules:

  • Non-refundable for the time not utilized
  • Full payment is still required
  • Potential extra costs may be incurred

Solving Disputes Over Refunds

If there's any dispute with a reimbursement decision, you can:

  • Demand a review by the administration team
  • Provide extra documentation or proof
  • Look for a resolution via consumer protection entities
  • Seek judicial solutions as per the prevailing laws

  • Reservation confirmation code
  • Details of the charter timing and date
  • Explanation for the cancellation
  • Any supporting documents, if applicable
  • Your preference for refunding

Step 3: Evaluation and Processing

Our customer service will acknowledge your request in a day, compare it against our policy, make a decision within two days, and process any accepted refunds according to the specified times.

Important Remarks

  • All requests for refunds must be made in written form
  • Reimbursements are handled in £ regardless of the original currency used for payment
  • Securing travel insurance is highly advisable
  • This policy can be updated with 30 days’ notice
  • Refunds are bound by relevant taxes and regulations
